About the coach
Taylor Sargent
The massive impact resistance training had on my life inspired me to help others with their fitness journeys. To me, fitness is so much more than your physique - it's about how your body moves and how you feel. I have always had a natural desire to learn and improve, not only myself as an athlete, but as your trainer as well.
I enjoy educating people on the importance of quality movement patterns - not only for your performance in the gym, but for your ability to withstand the demands of everyday life and sport. I love helping our members optimize their form, build the body they want and achieve their goals inside and outside of the gym.
From a young age I have always loved being physically active and participating in sports. I competed at an elite level of martial arts competitions throughout my teens and into my early 20’s picking up a few titles along the way.
I got into strength training while I was studying at university. I found myself in constant pain, my back and hips ached almost every day and my neck would crank and be stiff and sore for weeks at a time. I was also lethargic and was prone to getting sick a lot! This was caused by a combination of not prioritising my nutrition, spending too much time on my computer and not enough time moving… Sound familiar?
My dad recommended that I start doing some resistance training to strengthen my muscles and get me moving more. After just a few weeks of training I noticed a big difference in how my body was feeling, I had more energy, the aches and pains were far less severe and after a while they went away completely. I then fell in love with lifting weights, setting and achieving goals in the gym and just getting stronger.
